If your Windows installation states that it is not activated, it may require re-activation via the Windows Command Prompt.

Please follow these instructions:

1. Right click Start.

2. Click "Terminal - Admin".

3. In the resulting window, type: slmgr /cpky - hit enter, a confirmation will show.

4. Then type: slmgr /upk - hit enter, a confirmation will show.

5. Open c:\pcal\OEM and locate the text file named Windows license key. Open it and copy (crtrl+c) the key inside it.

6. Back in the terminal window, type: slmgr -ipk and then ctrl+v to paste the license key. Hit enter. A confirmation will show that the key was installed.

7. Finally type: slmgr -ato and hit enter. You may see a confirmation saying that it was either successful or unsuccessful - regardless, close the terminal window.

8. Reboot.

9 Upon reboot, click Start, type: Activation, and click the item, "Activation Settings".

10.  You should see a confirmation that Windows is activated.

If you do not see a confirmation of activation, double-check that you've properly copied/pasted the Windows license key in steps 5 and 6.
