The FCC requires that all electronic devices create no interference and also accept any interference present. Unfortunately, this rule is not always able to be enforced in the AC wiring in our homes and studios, which can lead to electrical interference that is heard on our speakers and monitors.


If you are hearing audible noise or static while using your Rok Box and associated audio interface and speakers, there are a few key items to check:


1. Ensure that you are using a properly grounded AC power plug. If possible, utilize a power conditioner or battery backup (these often feature technology that will absorb background electrical noise). A standard power strip will not feature this technology and may allow electrical noise to pass through to your speakers. 


2. Ensure that cabling to your speakers is properly plugged in, and that all cables are in good repair. When in doubt, try new cables to run from your audio interface to your speakers. 


3. Check all drivers and driver settings for your audio interface, specifically the buffer size settings. All audio interfaces have different control panels, but a buffer size setting should be editable in all cases. Set the buffer size setting as high as it may be set, and then experiment to see if the noise persists. 


4. If the noise persists, try plugging your Rok Box or audio interface's power cable to a different AC outlet. In some cases, the AC outlet may be causing this noise.
